On Sunday, June 9th, Dynasty Track Club participated in their first community service event of the year with Meals by Grace.
Meals by Grace is a no cost, delivered meal program available to the children of Forsyth County and their families. These families have been identified as having a special need by the Forsyth County School System Social Workers with limited or unreliable transportation.
This was a great way for the team to give back to the community along with being something the whole family could do. We are advocates of healthy eating in the summer because of our level of activity and after all that’s what athletes do. It was an eye opening experience for our kids to learn about some kids not being able to eat breakfast and lunch because they where no longer in school.
Dynasty took action by assembling food boxes with all types of fruit, vegetables, meats, and grains. We added books for each kid along with water and juices to help sustain them for the week. It was an overall awesome experience working so efficiently as a team assembling over 68 boxes for families. The service event was a success. Dynasty and Meals by Grace will definitely be partnering up again.
Collectively, the club put in more than 36 volunteer hours that went towards helping 68 families in the Forsyth community in need of food and support.
